Set CSR and customer locale preferences

CSRs and customers can easily set their locale preferences in the service desk and portals. Language, date, and time format preferences can all be customized on the customer level. Administrators can configure locale preferences for groups of customers for consistent customer service across all portals. Portal descriptions, field names, and field options are all translated in the customer's preferred language. The unified portal can also auto-detect guest locale preferences so first-time customers can easily use your portal without having to set any preferences.

Set locale preferences for CSRs

  1. In the Setup tab, click CSR Management.
  2. Select the appropriate CSRs.
  3. Under the Locale Information section, use the drop-down menus to select options for Language, Timezone, Date Format, and Time Format fields.

    Note: Defining a language for CSRs will automatically disable chat translations for chats routed to them in their native language.

  4. Click Save.

Set locale preferences for customers

  1. In the Customer tab, select the appropriate customer and click Edit Customer.
  2. In the Locale section, use the drop-down menus to select options for the Language, Date Format, and Time Format fields.

  3. Click Save.

Set locale preferences in the portal

  1. Sign in to the Support Portal.
  2. Click the My Profile option and click Edit.
  3. Select the appropriate Timezone, Time Format, and Date Format by using the drop-down menus.
  4. Click Save.
