Add hyperlinks to your custom Business Objects reports

You can add hyperlinks within your custom Business Objects reports by inserting specific formulas and setting the field properties to read the cell contents as a hyperlink.

Create a Hyperlink to a Ticket

 

To create a hyperlink from a cell in your report to a ticket in your Parature system, follow these instructions:

  1. Create a Premium Report that includes the Ticket Number dimension as a column.
  2. Click a data field in the Ticket Number column.

  3. Insert the following formula: ="<a href=https://[YOUR PARATURE DOMAIN]/ics/tt/ticketDetail.asp?ticketNum=" +Substr([Ticket Number];Pos([Ticket Number];"-")+1;Length([Ticket Number])) +">" + [Ticket Number] + " </a>
  4. In the Properties tab on the left pane, change the Read cell content as field to Hyperlink

  5. Save your report.

Create a Hyperlink to a Knowledgebase Reference

To create a hyperlink from a cell in your report to a knowledgebase reference in your Parature system, follow these instructions:

  1. Create a Premium Report that includes the Reference Number dimension as a column.
  2. Click a data field in the Reference Number column.

  3. Insert the following formula: ="<a href=https://[YOUR PARATURE DOMAIN]/ics/km/kmRefEdit.asp?questionID=" +Substr([Reference ID];Pos([Reference ID];"-")+1;Length([Reference ID]))+">" + [Reference ID] + "</a>"
  4. In the Properties tab on the left pane, change the Read cell content as field to Hyperlink

  5. Save your report.
